It was easy for me to choose pharmacy
at Curtin, as it is the only university
offering the course that leads to
registration as a pharmacist in the
whole of WA. I know that when I graduate I will often be the
first medical professional consulted in relation to a health
issue, and if I can make a difference to someone's life by
providing them with information about effective and safe use
of medicines, then I think I'm definitely making tomorrow
better for people in the community.

I could never imagine myself
being anything other than an
occupational therapist. I feel
lucky to have found a career that I love, am
passionate about and feel I can make a real
difference in the lives of others.
Occupational therapy is all about using
everyday activities to promote the health and
wellbeing of others. I am currently working in
home-visiting at Sir Charles Gairdner Hospital
and love being out in the community.
Occupational therapy brings an important
perspective to healthcare that looks beyond a
medical diagnosis to a person with valuable
activities, roles and an individual life context.
It also provides the opportunity to work in a
interprofessional team.
Occupational therapy empowers others to
achieve their full potential through occupation
despite illness, injury or disability. My studies
through Curtin University were not an end but
rather the beginning of an exciting, challenging
and rewarding career.

Institute of Medical Scientists.
I love the friendly environment at
Curtin, it feels like a second home,
everything is available in one easy
central location. This includes a
library, the gym, restaurants, a
pharmacy and a bookshop.
In my country we do not have
access to the technology that I've
utilised on the course, which has
been a unique experience for me.
I feel that I'm making tomorrow
better as when I graduate I hope
to be saving lives by checking
blood for the presence of diseases
such as hepatitis and AIDS and
identifying blood diseases such
as anaemia and luekaemia.
