　　1.Academics: Being a history major is great. It adequately prepares you for a career in law school, graduate school, or even the general business world. There is a lot of reading, studying, and writing papers-- but the workload is not unmanageable.

　　2.Academics: My favorite part of IU is the academic aspect. I love classes here. I've only had one professor that I didn't enjoy. Professors are typically really great and really helpful. I don't find the workload to be overwhelming at all; no one should have a problem with that as long as they are keeping up. Registering for classes is a huge hassle though. You want to make an enrollment shopping cart so you can be ready to register when your enrollment date comes along, but the chances of the classes filling up before your date comes along are more likely than not. So that can be very stressful. However, you can still choose to be waitlisted for the classes that you want.

　　3.Academics: IU is a lot harder than people make it seem... I got a 4.0 in high school and then got a 2.9 my first semester here because I didn't know what it took to do well in hard, large classes. The professor won't know you in a group of 250 if you never go to their office hours- SO GO. I got grades changed because they knew me and knew I tried hard. While we are a state school, a lot of the programs here are difficult (especially the math and science programs). I see a lot of people transfer after first semester because they thought it was going to be easy. However, I do feel like my degree will be worth something. ALWAYS check your prof before on ratemyprofessor, a good prof makes a difference.

　　4.Academics: Since I'm a neuroscience major most of my premed requirements are included in my major requirements. It also means I'm in the college of Psychological and Brain Sciences, so there are many opportunities to participate in research and studies.

Because of the large size I think everyone recognizes how many differences there are and don't have trouble finding people who they can relate to. We openly talk about controversial topics in my classes and no one has ever been too uncomfortable or offended.

There are a crazy high number of international kids, mainly from China and Korea and some from India too. As a town, Bloomington tends to be a bit more liberal in a very conservative state for the most part.

There is also a place with healthier options, such as subs and soups, and there is a salad bar. I have found that these options are represented in all of the dining halls.

The workload and curriculum is invigorating but not too overbearing, and it is extremely interesting. The professors are all extremely experienced and go beyond the call of duty when helping their students.

However, I wouldn't trust academic advisors at Indiana University, there terrible. I would trust asking your professors what courses are the best to sign up for and their advice. The workload is normal. It really depends on the major. Kelley School of Business workload has been heavy the last five-years. It’s a very competitive program.
